Jan Torrents, AKA DJ J.E.T.S., has been a fixture in Ottawa's
nightlife for over 10 years. With residencies at local hotspots like
Mercury Lounge, Woody's, Mavericks and Helsinki, as well as opening
slots for DJ Babu, DJ Dopey, Pete Rock, DJ Mana and Juno nominees
Eternia and D-Sissive. DJ J.E.T.S. has been garnering enthusiastic
audience response and critical praise for his elaborately-styled and
diverse sets.
DJ J.E.T.S. has built his foundations on a background in turntablism, the art of manipulating sounds and creating music using turntables and a DJ mixer. He brings an appreciation and deep understanding of a well-rounded DJ demonstrated in the high energy and technical sets that he's built his sound reputation upon. Quite simply, DJ J.E.T.S., takes listeners on a memorable journey through genres such as, classic Hip Hop, Funk, Electro, Disco House and Dance, to name a few.
2012 saw DJ J.E.T.S. release a handful of mixtapes complemented by a breakthrough appearance on one of Ottawa's premier Hip Hop groups, Homebased, album to be released internationally.
Past accomplishments include; 2nd place in the 2008 Ottawa DMC Competition, album features and performances with Flip Kuma, Addaboe, Teddy KGB, Atherton, Audio Fix with Bender and Patience and an appearance at Style & Progress with Sam Osa, as well as many other local artists. Most recently along side Ottawa's own Missing LinX at Ritual nightclub.
Was also one of the featured DJ's for the Ottawa Senators Foundation, 2013 Ferguslea Sens Soirée (Graffiti), at the Casino Lac Leamy.
